New Notary Acknowledgment 2015. Starting January 1, 2015 the State of California is adding wording to the California Acknowledgment. The new wording reads as follows.

“A notary public or other officer completing this certificate verifies only the identity of the individual who signed the document to which this certificate is attached, and not the truthfulness, accuracy, or validity of that document.”

The certificate of acknowledgment (PDF) must be in the form set forth in California Civil Code section 1189.

New Notary Jurat 2015. Starting January 1, 2015 the State of California is adding wording to the California Jurat. The new wording reads as follows.

“A notary public or other officer completing this certificate verifies only the identity of the individual who signed the document to which this certificate is attached, and not the truthfulness, accuracy, or validity of that document.”
